The Captain of Tenkes

Máté Eke, Ádám Béri Balog, kuruc rebels and Habsburg loyalists, spectacle, adventure and plenty of humour: The Captain of Tenkes became hugely popular on Hungarian Television, and fifty years later it found new life on stage in the production of the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble. Alongside its virtuoso dance scenes, this tale-like story offers an authentic glimpse into the age of the kuruc uprisings, evoking its folklore, beliefs and legendary figures.
The performance is lively, entertaining and engaging for both children and adults.

A dance play based on the screenplay by Ferenc Örsi, in two 40-minute parts.
Recommended for audiences aged 10 and above.
