The Hungarian National Dance Ensemble is Hungary’s largest professional folk dance company with 40 dancers.Its “mother tongue” is based on the folk dance treasures of the Carpathian Basin, and its repertoire features a wide variety from historical dances to authentic folk performances, as well as tales based on folk traditions. The productions are characterized by their unusual dynamics, the virtuosity of the dancers as well as the spectacles on the stage. The Hungarian National Dance Ensemble operates as a part of Honvéd Ensemble, with the leading of Zoltán Zsuráfszky choreographer, artistic director. This unique artistic community offers spectacular performances to national and international audiences in a wide variety of genres. The ensemble presently consists of 130 individuals, and over the previous decades the company has performed approximately 26,000 shows in 53 countries.
