Szatmár - Living Dance Archive

Can we list 290 villages in our country, in the Carpathian Basin? György Martin and his team collected the dances of exactly this number of settlements in the greatest detail - only in Szatmár! With their noble and contemporary work, they keep alive the dances of the people living there. The Hungarian National Dance Ensemble presents the treasured material to its viewers as a worthy theatrical experience. The performance begins with a quote from Zsigmond Móricz's Szatmári collection, which is transformed into a real theatrical experience by the most beautiful Hungarian verbunks, also “csárdás” from Nagyecsed and Tyukod and virtuoso gypsy dances.
