Ghimes - Living Dance Archive

From the mid-seventies, Zoltán Zsuráfszky often visited Gyimes, which was considered a real white spot from the point of view of ethnographic and dance collecting. The beauty of the countryside and the ancient, archaic nature of the dance impressed and made the young dance artist and dance collector, who was one of the first to get to know and observe the dance culture of the Hungarians living there, an eternal fan. Apropos of the latest piece of the series is none other than the filming 30 years ago. In our show, we want to preserve the folk art heritage of Gyimes in a stage form, with the precisely learned material of this film, which is now considered an archive, as well as choreographies inspired by the Gyimes dances.
